Dynamic Optimisation
Digital Display
Dynamic display advertisements are html creatives capable of displaying variable
content, when triggered by external data. With one design, a car manufacturer can be
promoting utility vehicles in rural areas, and sports cars in urban centers.
Messages can change based on the time of day, weather, cookies, device,
demographics, fluctuations in the market, even the price of crypto.
This technology works in tandem with creative optimisation. A basic example of this
would be a dynamic ad for a fast food chain, capable of showing one of 4 burger
deals. Optimisation is programming that ad to track which burger is getting more
clicks, and to promote that one more often.
Dynamic ads enable you to make your message more relevant, and more effective,
without sacrificing quality.
I have designed dynamic display templates, and provided creative strategies for
Westpac, Porsche Australia, Dulux, Medibank, and Betr. I wrote Porsche Australia's
Dynamic Display Guidelines, and partnered with Google and OMD to create a case study
on the effectiveness of dynamic display advertising for British Paints, receiving
in-person training from Google in the process.
